Go Bag Packing
Keep heavy items low and centred against your back for stability; test your pack weight, aim for 15–20kg for extended movement.
Packing Layers
Use a bottom-up pyramid method: heavy/rarely used at base, escalating to instant-access at top and exterior.
Keep Docs in a clear plastic folder and carry a water bottle in an external pocket for ease of access.
Use strong Black plastic bin bags to wrap clothes and shoes as these can be useful later.
In the military, I always carried an inflatable pillow for comfort (sit on or headrest), 5M Parachord, comb, peaked hat and a button compass.
